With the aim of developing a standardized registry system for municipal fisherfolk, The bureau of fisheries and aquatic Resources BFAR) launched in Central Luzon its simplified National Program for Municipal Fisherfolk Registration (FishR) recently. BFAR Region 3 Director Remedios Octangco said the FishR is being implemented based on section 19 of Republic act 8550, The Philippine Fisheries Code.
