The mayor of this town is pushing seaweeds culture as an alternative livelihood for fishermen in his municipality. Guiuan Mayor Christopher Sheen Gonzales told to reporters in a press conference at his office here that he is encouraging fishermen in the coastal areas of his town to into seaweeds farming as one of his strategies resolving the problem of illegal fishing and to uplift the depressed Socio-economic conditions of the Fisherfolk in the municipality.
