    The united state government is fully supporting the ecosystem improved for sustainable Fisheries (ECOFISH) program of the city government of Surigao. Through its United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the US government is helping this fast-rising city in an objective to improve the livelihood of big number of fishermen through the sustainable fishing. It also aims to protect the abundant coastal and rich aquamarine resources being a Pacific Ocean facing city in Northeastern Mindanao.
