Danilo Lorilla, chief of the Conservation and Development Division of DENR-6, said that DENR is giving priority to the cleanup of rivers nationwide to improve water quality, hence, the launching of the award. Further, it aims to raise awareness of Filipinos to conserve and protect rivers; involve stakeholders in order to protect rivers from degradation and further pollution; and to come up with mitigations and interventions.en
