The annual ban on fishing of three different species along the Visayan sea is on. Since Nov. 15, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) started enforcing the three-month ban on fishing for herrings mackerels and sardines. BFAR-6 Regional Director Remia Aparri told Manila Bulletin that the annual ban, which started November 1989, is stipulated in Fisheries Administrative Order No. 167-3.
