    Excerpt
To strengthen the country’s food security program while improving the living conditions of coastal villagers, a Mobile Mariculture Platforms (MPPs) program has been launched for Surigao City and Surigao del Norte. The project, which was presented during the 2016 Convergence Project on MPP Production early this week was initiated by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) under the Caraga Region’s Poverty Agenda called “Directed Intervention to Eradicate Poverty” (DIEP). The program also aims to ease the plight of marginalized fisher folk by giving them the opportunity to operate and manage fish cages for the culture of bangus (milkfish)
