East Asia nations vow to curb marine pollution

Countries in East Asia will bolster policies to reduce marine pollution and strengthen coastal restorations. Members of the intergovernmental Partnerships in Environmental Management for Seas of East Asia (PEMSEA) are signifying commitments to the “Iloilo Declaration: East Asian Region Moving as One to Secure Healthy Oceans, People and Economies.” Speaking at the 2018 East Asian Seas (EAS) Congress in Iloilo City, PEMSEA Executive Director Aimee Gonzales said the Iloilo Declaration is the first of its kind in East Asia.
