    Excerpt
Various environmental groups have stressed that the implementation of ecological solid waste management (ESWM) in the country's more than 42, 000 barangays will be vital in keeping waste materials from polluting water bodies, including marine, protected areas in Palawan. More than 50 participants from eight barangays of Puerto Princesa City took part in a day-long training program on ESWM yesterday in Barangay Maruyugon, and sent this strong message to the public, local officials and concerned government agencies. Two more training events covering 12 more barangays with 175 participants will be held on September 19 and 20 in Barangays Santa Monica and Napsan.
