Crane ship Borneo has finally been given the go signal to drop anchor on protected Tubbataha Reef and start operations to extract damaged U.S. naval vessel, USS Guardian from the area. Said extraction plans were given the nod by the Tubbataha Protected Area Management Board (TPAMB), said Philippine Coast Guard Palawan district head Commodore Enrico Evangelista after the TPAMB gave the go signal to proceed with the salvaging operations by cutting the navy minesweeper into sections before these are lifted by crane. SMIT Borneo arrived from Singapoer last Sunday in Palawan to extract the USS Guardian which had ran aground at Tubbataha Reef.en
