The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) announced yesterday the creation of a task force with a p1.2-million fund to eradicate fish and shrimp predators that kill small fish and fingerlings in this coastal town. BFAR Central Luzon Regional Director Remedios Ongtangco said the agency has created a task force that would assist fish farmers affected by "kuto" or fishpond lice in Masantol as well as in the nearby town of Hagonoy in Bulacan. Ongtangco said the program's activities include the survey of affected areas, trainings on basic pond preparation and fish health management.en
