The Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center-Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC-AQD) in Tigbauan, Iloilo is now prepared to put up the new biotechnology laboratory to house researchers for its Aquaculture Biotechnology Project. The Minutes of Discussion on the establishment of this Biotech Lab was recently signed by the Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary Cesar Drilon, SEAFDEC-AQD chief Dr. Rolando Platon and basic design team Japanese leader Mr. Akira Nakamura. A temporary location for the biotech project's laboratory was already operative during the latter part of the year 2000.
