The provincial government is pushing the ₱6.6 million reef protection project surrounding the Agutayan Islet off the coast of the town of Jasaan, east of here. Provincial Governor Vincente Yevgeny Emano disclosed this after announcing the scheduled inauguration of the "Watch Tower" and "Marine Observation Deck" in the islet this month. Jasaan has been chosen as the beneficiary of the reef protection program, especially the surrounding expanse of the all-white islet of Agutayan that has been declared as the "fish sanctuary" of Misamis Oriental, Emano said.en
