After commissioning the operation of a $6.1million water treatment facility for its Didipio Mine in this upland town, OceanaGold Philippines, Inc. (OGPI) announced the implementation of more natural measures that would keep greening the host area and its waterways clean. Among other measures implemented by the Australian mining firm is the growing and propagation of Vetiver grass at its project site to dispose effluent from ponds and come up with natural rehabilitation and re-greening of the tailings storage facility.
