    Excerpt
Three bays in Eastern Visayas remain positive for paralytic shellfish poisoning or what is more popularly reffered to as "red tide." Latest laboratory report of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) reveal that all types of shellfish and acetes sp. (small krill-like shrimps) or alamang gathered from Carigara Bay in Leyte and Cambatutay Bay in Tarangnan, Samar are not safe for human consumption. The public is advised to refrain from eating, harvesting, marketing and buying shellfishes and acetes esp. from Carigara Bay and Cambatutay Bay until such time that the toxicity level has gone down below regulatory levels.
