    Excerpt
An abalone stock enhancement program is now being undertaken at the Sagay Marine Reserve (SMR) in Sagay, Negros Occidental. Abalone is one of the most expensive marine mollusks, available in fresh, frozen, canned, or dried form and can be eaten raw (sashimi) or cooked. Many abalone areas in the country have been depleted owing to overharvest.
