    EU funds mudcrab project in Iloilo

    The European Union (EU) is now funding a three-year (2002 to 2004) project on mudcrab (alimango), called "Culture and Management of Scylla Species." It involves four institutions worldwide, including a Philippine government-hosted Southeast Asian center based here. Involved are the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Commission's Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC AQD) her, the Can Tho University in Vietnam, Artemia Reference Center of the University of Ghent in Belgium, and University of Wales in the United Kingdom.
