On the government's endorsement through President Arroyo, the chief of the Tigbauan, Iloilo-based Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC AQD) has been reappointed for an unprecedented fourth term. Dr. Rolando Platon was reappointed by the SEAFDEC Council of Directors, the highest policymaking body of the center. Philippine representative to the body is Agriculture Undersecretary Cesar Drilon Jr. The council is composed of the SEAFDEC member countries - Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia, and Cambodia.
