local.seafdecaqd.extractMinisters of government agencies in Southeast Asia concerned with fisheries have signed a Resolution on Sustainable Fisheries for Food Security for the ASEAN Region. The signing of the plan capped the "ASEAN-SEAFDEC Conference on Sustainable Fisheries for Food Security in the New Millennium Fish for the People" held recently in this city. Signatories to the resolution were Ministers responsible for fisheries from the governments of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam; the director of the Bureau of Functional Cooperation, the ASEAN Secretariat, and their respective delegations. The resolution takes off from the principles of the ASEAN Vision 2020 and the initiatives agreed upon by the ASEAN member countriers under the Hanoi Plan of Action.en
