Dr. Rolando R. Platon was reappointed for an unprecedented fourth term as chief of the Philippine government-hosted Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center-Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC-AQD) based in Tigabauan, Iloilo. Dr. Platon was reappointed by the SEAFDEC Council of Directors, the center's highest policy-making body composed of a representative each of the member countries. AQD is one of the four technical departments of SEAFDEC, a regional treaty organization established in 1967 to promote fisheries development in Southeast Asia.
