Excerpt
The regional office of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in Northeastern Mindanao on Monday confirmed that shellfish from Lianga Bay in Surigao del Sur province still tested positive for paralytic shellfish poison. With this development, the state agency said all kinds of shellfish in Lianga Bay should not be harvested, sold, or eaten. Based on the latest laboratory results, shellfishes collected at the bay are still positive for paralytic shellfish poison that is beyond the regulatory limit.
