    Excerpt
Four drawings by young Filipino artists will be sent to Thailand for the exhibition of the ASEAN-SEAFDEC member countries' top drawings during the ASEAN-SEAFDEC Conference on Sustainable Fisheries for Food Security Towards 2020 or Fish for the People 2020: Adaptation to a Changing Environment schedule from June 13 to 17, 2011 in Bankok, Thailand. The "Fish for the People" Conference aims to further address the priority issues on the current situation and emerging topics that may impede the sustainable development and contribution of fisheries and aquaculture to food security in the Southeast Asian region and to consequently build public awareness, reinforce ASEAN solidarity, and develop a regional policy framework. As both ASEAN and SEAFDEC seek to enjoin the participation of the young generation in this endeavor, a drawing contest, with the Theme: Fisheries for Food Security - Adaptation to the Changing Environment, was participated in by ten member countries. For the Philippines, the nationwide contest was organized in November 2010 by SEAFDEC Aquaculture Department (AQD) which is based in Tigbauan, Iloilo.
