    Excerpt
New hybrid technology for abalone farming has been developed by scientists at the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) Aquaculture Department. The new technology has produced two "presumptive" abalone hybrids. The hybrids grow in size faster than the conventional donkey's ear (Haliotis asinina), among the world's fastest-growing cultured abalones.
