In its drive to empower farmers, the Department of Tourism (DOT) aims to establish one farm tourism site in every town in the country. Undersecretary Silvino Tejada said this is a long term goal that the agency envisions to provide income opportunities to farmers. DOT-6 Regional Director Helen Catalbas said she is optimistic that Western Visayas will achieve the goal, claiming that the region is now second to Calabarzon in the number of agri-tourism sites. Catalbas said they are eyeing fish farms in tandem with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).en
