    Excerpt
Local officials here debunked reports that this city is no longer the tuna capital of the country. City Mayor Ronnel Rivera was reacting to reports released by World Wildlife Foundation (WWF), which declared Occidental Mindoro as the emerging tuna capital of the Philippines due to the region’s increasing tuna catch for the past years. “GenSan is still the tuna capital. Being the tuna capital is not merely based on the number of tuna catches but it should be all-encompassing,” Rivera stressed.
