Four outstanding farmers and fisherfolk were recognized for their vital contribution to the different sectors of agriculture as they were tagged as "true heroes" during the Farmers’ and Fisherfolk’s Month. The men behind every contribution in the field of fisheries, high value crops, livestock, rice, and corn were recognized for their commendable impact to the growth and development of the Philippine agriculture. During the awarding ceremony held recently, Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Proceso Alcala described the farmers and fisherfolks as the “true heroes” of our country.
