    Excerpt
The Philippines is putting up its mud crab hatchery in Iloilo in an aim to meet local and export demand for the delicacy which can be marketed to Japan, Europe, and US. Using a seed fund of ₱1 million, the University of the Philippines-Visayas (UPV) in Iloilo, Philippines' university center of research on fisheries and aquaculture, is establishing a mud crab hatchery. This is particularly for the king crab variety which has institutional markets (hotels and restaurants) and household markets.
