The provincial board here has declared La Union under a state of calamity over the damage wrought on its coastline by the oil spill from "M/V Harita Bauxiote" which capsized last February 16 off Bolinao, Pangasinan. Provincial Information Officer Adamor Agang said the declaration of a state of calamity does not mean the oil spill is worsening. Earlier, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said it suspected the M/V Harita Bauxiote as the source of the oil spill.en
