The Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Central Visayas (DENR) is set to allocate some ₱35.4 million to help in rehabilitation and recovery efforts in disaster-stricken areas in Central Visayas. DENR 7 Regional Executive Director Dr. Isabelo R. Montejo made the revelation after the submission of its 2014 Work and Financial Plan for rehabilitation programs subject to approval by DENR Secretary Ramon JP Paje. The submitted plan is focused on areas affected by the 7.2 magnitude earthquake last October 15, 2013 and typhoon Yolanda which struck parts of the country in November 8, 2013. These areas are being prioritized by the plan which intends to implement such recovery programs as mangrove rehabilitation, plantation establishment, and beach type forest plantation.en
