Natives of world-famous Boracay Island are puzzled by President Dutere’s statement on implementing a land reform program after the government rehabilitates the resort island. “Hindi kami nagtatanim dito (We don’t plant here),” said Delsa Justo, the tribal chieftain of the Atis, an indigenous group with an ancestral domain. Duterte yesterday announced that he “will give it to the farmers” as Boracay will be a “land reform area.”
