A whale shark feeds on minute marine species, including krill, in waters off Tan-Awan village in the town of Oslob in the southern part of Cebu province. Whale shark watching in the area has become a popular tourism activity despite protests from environmentalists against fishermen's unnatural feeding of krill to these gentle sea mammals.
