    Excerpt
The Visayan Sea will be off limits to fishermen for three months starting November 15. The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) has enforced the moratorium on the harvest and trade of sardines, mackerel and herring. BFAR Western Visayas Director Remia Aparri explained the yearly fishing ban aims to curb the depleting population of the three fish species in the Visayan sea, which is one of the country'c richest fishing grounds.
