A ₱3-million mariculture project in Guimaras is set to kick off sometime this August to further empower the province's fisherfolk affected by the oil spill. Serving at the front of the project is the South East Asian Fisheries and Development Center - Aquaculture Division (SEAFDEC -AQD), Petron Foundation, and the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP). SEAFDEC will provide all the technicalities necessary to run the project while Petron provides the cash flow. PBSP, on the other hand, will play a major role in the community mobilization and monitoring.
