A swimming trip of two high school friends ended in tragedy after one of them was almost eaten alive by a crocodile in Balabac town, Palawan, police reported. The crocodile had clamped its jaws on the right leg of 16-year-old Parsi Hulia Diaz and was dragging him away. His friend Ronel Sara kept hitting the animal with a paddle until it released Diaz, according to Chief Insp. Imelda Tolentino, spokesperson of the Mimaropa (Mindoro Oriental and Occidental, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) regional police. Diaz had bite wounds on the leg and buttocks.
