Cebu Rep. Benhur Salimbangon has filed House Bill 2313 to amend Republic Act 8550, the Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998, to promote the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) directors and his two assistant directors to higher positions and enable them to be involved in international trade negotiations. Under HB 2313, the BFAR director will get the post of Undersecretary, while his two assistant directors will be promoted to Assistant Secretaries.
