A butanding (whale shark0 was sighted yesterday by banca-riding fishermen off the shore of Isla de Bonito de Salinas, a public resort here. It was the third endangered marine mammal species that went near the shores of Cavite in three years. Mayor Jose "Nonong" Ricafrente ordered a search to determine if the butanding found in his turf is sickly. Most butandins found near the shores of Cavite are sick and dying, it was observed. Ricafrente said the kind are rare species would have to be saved and given proper care.en
