The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) in this city will embark on a massive planting of mangroves in at least three coastal villages of this city in an effort to revive the spawning site, habitat and sanctuary of tropical and reef fish found along the coast of the city. Zamboanga City CENRO chief Ben Acana said his office has allotted some ₱6.8 million for the massive planting of mangroves propagules in at least 800 hectares along the coastline of the villages of Talon-Talon, Tigtabun and Pilas island. Acana explained that his office has enough supply of propagules which they produce at their 400-hectare nursery site.en
