    Excerpt
A month after a cargo vessel ran aground in a coral reef in the coast of Barangay Lingsat, this city, authorities will begin an investigation into the likely environmental damage caused by the ship. San Fernando City Mayor Pablo Ortega ordered concerned agencies, here to inspect the "M/V Vin Hoa Vosco," a cargo vessel registered in Vietnam, for possible oil spill. Citing initial reports reaching his office, Ortega said the ship containing 7,000 metric tons of rice intended for the National Food Authority (NFA) office in Region 1 struck a coral rock last December 21 and remained stuck until press time.
