Dead great white shark washed ashore in Dipaculao, Aurora
Excerpt
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) has alerted barangay officials of this coastal town to take precautionary measures following the discovery of a great white shark washed ashore in Barangay Lob-bot, Wednesday. Arturo (Bong) Molina, MDRRMC chief, said the his office had radioed all coastal village chiefs to be watchful in their respective barangays and as much as possible advise local fishermen to be cautious from venturing into deep fishing activities until an official announcement from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) declaring no sighting or presence of the killer shark in the Aurora waters is made. “Nakikipagkonsulta na po kami sa BFAR upang alamin kung may posibilidad ba na may kasamang grupo ng mga pating ang killer shark na natagpuan sa dalampasigan. (We are now consulting with the BFAR if there is indeed a possibility that the dead shark found in the shoreline could have had with a flock of sharks)”, Molina said.
