    Excerpt
Farmers and investors in fisheries should find time to visit the Agrilink trade show that will be staged at the World Trade Center in Pasay City on October 4 to 6. The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) will showcase its investment and marketing chain project for seaweed and milkfish or bangus. The fisheries bureau, aside from many other things, will conduct a Fisheries Forum featuring various technology and investment opportunities in fisheries and a business matching activity to help link MSMEs with local and foreign buyers. In fact, foreign trade performance of the fishery industry in 2016 registered a net surplus of $475 million. Export volume also increased by 12.5% compared to 2015 with total value amounting to 950 million. The three major export commodities were tuna, seaweeds and prawn.
