    Excerpt
The nine municipal mayors and local officials including the barangays were asked to protect the marine resources of the province from illegal fishing practices like muro ami, dynamite fishing among others. They were also tasked to make strategies that would curb and completely eradicate these destructive practices particularly on corals, which serve as the homes of all kinds of fish. Officials from the Bureau of Fisheries Aquatic Resources, Philippine Coast Guard and Philippine Navy were asked to pool their resources to stop illegal fishing in the “Paradise Island” of Siargao.
