local.descriptionJurgenne Honculada Primavera is the first Senior Scientist of the Aquaculture Department of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center based in Iloilo, central Philippines. In 1966, after earning her degree in Bachelor of Science in zoology at the Universty of the Philippines in Diliman, she joined the Mindanao State University and taught undergraduate biology and zoology courses for almost 10 years. She holds BS and MA degree in zoology and a PhD in marine science. She also received a Pew Fellowship in Marine Conservation from 2005 to 2010 where she focused on conserving mangroves through formal education and local governance.en
