    Excerpt
The United Nations (UN) representatives have lauded the success of the beach and mangrove reforestation projects of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Regional Office 8 (DENR-8) brought about by super typhoon Yolanda. DENR-8 Regional Executive Director Leonardo Sibbaluca told reporters that two UN representatives Hilal Elver, United Nations special rapporteur on the right to food, and Orlagh McCann, human rights officer for special procedures branch of the UN High Commission for Human Rights, visited the sites of the Leyte Gulf mangrove and beach forest rehabilitation projects. Leyte Governor Leopoldo Dominico L. Petilla said about 208 hectares of beaches in the province have been planted to mangrove tree species in Palo, Tanauan, Tolosa and Dulag and Tacloban.
