    The Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Eastern Visayas (DENR-8) is asking the public here to join campaigns for the protection and preservation of reefs. This, as the nation celebrates May as Month of the Ocean. The region, too, on May 22, will join in the global celebration of the International Day for Biodiversity under the theme “Biodiversity for Sustainable Development.” DENR Regional Director Leonardo Sibbaluca said, “It is fitting to pay tribute to our oceans by lining up activities that highlights the significance of conservation, protection and sustainable management of Philippine coastal and marine resources.
