local.seafdecaqd.extract | The first 100 coastal local government units (LGUs) that could complete the registration of fishing vessels and gears available in their locality are entitled to million worth of projects from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR). The incentive is in line with BFAR’s National Program for Municipal Fishing Vessel and Gear Registration (BoatR) launched early this year following the successful implementation of the agency’s Municipal Fisherfolk Fishery Registration (FishR). BFAR’s Western Visayas Regional Director Remia A. Apari said that the initiative seeks to assist local government units in “simplifying and standardizing” their system of registration. | en |
