local.descriptionConsistent with the mandate of DENR secretary Roy Cimatu to protect our rivers from activities which are detrimental to our marine biodiversity, a river patrol and monitoring team led by Iloilo-Batiano River Development Council and the Iloilo City Government was tasked to intensify the protection and preservation of the Iloilo Batiano River. Pursuant to Executive Order No. 47-A, government agencies collaborated to conduct a daily patrol of the river, namely: representatives from the Iloilo City government through its Agriculturist and Environment and Natural Resources Offices; Department of Environment and Natural Resources; Philippine Coast Guard ( PCG); Philippine Ports Authority ( PPA); Philippine National Police ( PNP); Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH); and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.en
