    Red tide alert up in Irong-Irong Bay

    The red tide toxin has been found in Irong-Irong Bay in Catbalogan City, Western Samar, a report from the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 8 said here today. Francisco C. Rosaroso, chief of the Regional Agriculture and Fisheries Information Section, (RAFIS) told reporters the laboratory analysis on samples collected from Irong-Irong Bay revealed that the level of red tide toxins were beyond the regulatory limit. Rosaroso warned the public against consuming all types of shellfish and acetes species or “alamang” from Irong-Irong Bay because these are not safe for human consumption.
