    Excerpt
Once known for its vibrant salt industry, Occidental Mindoro and its salt farmers are getting an ounce of help and a little push from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) through innovative technologies in a bid to improve production and harvest. Occidental Mindoro is surrounded by saltwater, making it one of the biggest salt-producing provinces in the country. However, due to climate change, the local salt industry in the province was greatly affected.
