BFAR lifts Bohol shellfish ban
Excerpt
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) lifted the ban on shellfish harvested in the waters off Tagbilaran City and the municipality of Dauis in Bohol and declared the same safe for human consumption. BFAR Director Eduardo B. Gongona signed a memorandum announcing the results of the red tide monitoring activities of BFAR and local government units in Tagbilaran City and Dauis town. The tests showed that shellfish samples collected from the coastal waters of Bohol are now negative of the red tide toxin.
