A fisherfolk group and an environment group based in Laguna lauded the demolition of large fishpens in the Laguna de Bay. The Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas (PAMALAKAYA-Pilipinas) and the Save Laguna Lake Movement (SLLM) thanked the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for dismantling huge fish cages in the 90,000-hectare lake to make way for traditional fishing grounds. The DENR led the demolition of pens last January 27 and February 24, when they removed three fish pen structures covering 150 hectares.en
