Two species of turtles, or “pawikans,” were released, Tuesday, after being under the care of the community extension arm of Davao Light and Power Company at the Aboitiz Cleanergy Park at Barangay Matina Aplaya. One of the turtles, a 6- kilogram hawksbill turtle, was discovered trapped in the Cleanergy Park’s mangroves last February 25. The hawksbill was believed to be the mother of one of the four nests found at the site.
